Looking for My Forever Home

Certified Therapy Dog

Lucy – Certified Therapy Dog Needs New Home

This is a unique situation as we don’t often hear of Certified Therapy Dogs being rehomed but due to Lucy’s owner leaving soon for the monastery he needs to find her a new home. Nine year old Lucy has done nearly 2000 therapy visits to nursing homes, Ronald McDonald house, scout troops, hospice patients, church groups, etc. She is extremely well trained and well behaved. She rides very well in the car and aims to please. Lucy would not do well with young children. She would do best in a home as the only pet. She chases cats so we don’t want to place her in a home with a cat. Whoever adopts Lucy could choose to work toward certifying as a therapy team with her or just keep her as a family pet. Either way, Lucy will be a wonderful addition to just about any household situation. She is very sweet and loving, in good health, and ready to find out who her new owner will be!

You can email Lucy’s owner’s daughter at AJK369@gmail.com with any questions.

Please note that Lucy does not belong to Handsome Dan’s Rescue. We are assisting her owner, Peter, to safely rehome Lucy.
